Chattanooga Gas Signs Accord with Utility Workers Local 461 May 13, 2004
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - May 13, 2004 – Chattanooga Gas, a wholly owned subsidiary of AGL Resources (NYSE: ATG), and the Utility Workers Union of America Local 461 (an AFL-CIO organization) signed an agreement that sets terms for collective bargaining over the next three years. The local, which represents approximately 40 Chattanooga Gas field employees in Chattanooga and Cleveland, ratified the re-negotiated contract on May 7, 2004. “This is a workable and reasonable agreement that meets the needs of both the company and the employees,” said Steve Lindsey, vice president of operations for Chattanooga Gas. “It sets parameters for continuing to work productively and constructively with Local 461 representatives and employees.”
