Chattanooga Gas Company Donates $10,000 To 'Project Warm Neighbors' For Help With Heating Costs

November 13, 2002

Chattanooga, Tenn. -- Chattanooga Gas Company (CGC) will donate $10,000 in matching funds to “Project Warm Neighbors,” a United Way-administered program to assist low-income families and the elderly with their heating costs this winter.

“The Energy Information Administration is predicting higher costs for natural gas and heating oil this winter,” said Larry Buie, the general manager of CGC. “With a colder winter in the forecast as well, there will be people who need extra help in paying their bills. We are glad to be able to work with the Chattanooga community to make sure that those in need will have help.”

CGC customers will have the opportunity to make “Project Warm Neighbors” donations by paying additional amounts on their gas bills in increments of $1, $2, $5 or $10. CGC will then match these donations up to $10,000.

Donations also can be made directly to “Project Warm Neighbors”, c/o United Way, P.O. Box 4027, Chattanooga, Tenn. 37405.
