Chattanooga, Tenn. – April 17, 2018 – Chattanooga Gas recognizes that natural gas is an essential energy source. The company is committed to sharing resources with customers who may need help with paying their heating bills and as a result, Chattanooga Gas has provided a one-time heating assistance grant to qualifying customers who are enrolled in our Warm Neighbors Program.
The “Sharing our Thanks” promotion distributed nearly $10,000 in one-time courtesy grants to qualifying customers.
“We are committed to being a citizen where we serve,” said Wendell Dallas, vice president of operations for Chattanooga Gas. “We hope this courtesy grant will provide additional support to these families.”
Since 2009 Chattanooga Gas has contributed more than an estimated $279,000 to local community agencies. Our community initiatives include:
- Annual Phone-a-thon - Partnership with local TV affiliate to educate customers about the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) and additional energy assistance programs that they may be eligible for
- Veterans program - Income eligible customers can receive a $150 annual grant
- Crisis Assistance - Financial assistance for Hamilton County customers to help prevent their service being shut off for non-payment or to restore service
- Warm Neighbors - Over $15,000 was given to local agencies in Hamilton and Bradley counties to assist Chattanooga Gas customers with their heating bills
