Commercial Energy Efficiency Rebates
Rebates available for your business when upgrading an existing natural gas furnace, water heater or condensing boiler to a qualified high efficiency model.
Furnace
Up to $400
Earn $300 for the installation of a new natural gas furnace with an efficiency rating of 92% AFUE or higher, or earn $400 for the installation of a new natural gas furnace with an efficiency rating of 95% AFUE or higher.
Tankless Water Heater
Up to $200
Earn $1 per MBH for the installation of a new natural gas tankless water heater with an efficiency rating of 90% TE or higher, 200 MBH or less. You may also be able to combine a tankless water heater rebate with an exclusive manufacturer rebate for even more savings.
Tank Water Heater
Up to $100
Earn $50 for the installation of a new natural gas tank water heater with an efficiency rating of 67% TE or higher, or $100 for the installation of a new natural gas storage tank water heater with an efficiency rating of 88% TE or higher.
Condensing Boiler
Up to $4,500

What Chattanooga Gas rebates are available?
Conversion rebates are available for the replacement of propane or electric appliances with new natural gas appliances. Energy Efficiency rebates are available for the replacement of existing natural gas appliances with qualified high efficiency natural gas models. New construction is not eligible for conversion or energy efficiency rebates.
What are Chattanooga Gas conversion rebates?
Chattanooga Gas conversion rebates are available for the replacement of propane or electric heating or cooling equipment, water heaters, cooking and drying equipment with qualified new natural gas appliances.
What are Chattanooga Gas energy efficiency rebates?
Chattanooga Gas energy efficiency rebates are available for the replacement of existing natural gas space or water heating equipment with a qualified new energy efficient natural gas furnace or water heater.
Energy efficiency rebate funds are limited; these rebates are valid while funds are available.
Who is eligible for Chattanooga Gas rebates?
Chattanooga Gas conversion rebates are available to commercial customers under a commercial rate as defined in the Chattanooga Gas tariff. Installers are not eligible to receive commercial rebates. Chattanooga Gas conversion rebates apply to qualifying new natural gas furnaces, cooling equipment, water heaters, cooking equipment and dryers installed to replace existing propane or electric heating systems, water heaters, and dryers by a certified Georgia licensed contractor. If natural gas was historically used at the premise for the appliance for which you are applying for a rebate, an alternative fuel must have been used for that appliance for a minimum duration of 36 months to qualify.
Chattanooga Gas energy efficiency rebates apply to qualifying new natural gas furnaces or water heaters installed to replace existing natural gas equipment by a certified Tennessee licensed contractor.
Customers at submitted service address must have an active account in good standing with Chattanooga Gas.
Do duel fuel systems qualify for the rebate?
No, dual fuel systems do not qualify for conversion or energy efficiency rebates.
What other criteria must be met to qualify for a rebate?
Online submission forms must be completed within 45 days of purchase or installation of qualifying product.
What supporting documentation is required for submission?
An installation invoice from a Tennessee certified licensed contractor is the accepted form of supporting documentation. Chattanooga Gas reserves the right to inspect the premises prior to payment.
What is the maximum annual rebate value per service address?
The maximum annual Chattanooga Gas rebate conversion value per commercial service address is $65,000.
There is a limit of $1,000 in Chattanooga Gas energy efficiency water heater rebates, a limit of two Chattanooga Gas energy efficiency furnace rebates and a limit of two Chattanooga Gas energy efficiency boiler rebates in a ten-year period per service address.
There is a limit of one Chattanooga Gas rebate per installed appliance. Hybrid water heaters with both a tank and tankless unit are considered one appliance.
Is this rebate offer valid for new construction?
This offer is not valid for new construction. This offer is only valid for pre-existing commercial premises located in the Chattanooga Gas service territory.
How long will it take to receive my rebate?
Please allow at least eight weeks after your completed claim (including supporting documentation) is submitted to receive your rebate. An account with Chattanooga Gas must be active at the submitted service address to receive your rebate.
