Chattanooga Gas energy efficiency rebates are available for the replacement of existing natural gas space or water heating equipment with a qualified new energy efficient natural gas furnace or water heater.

Residential energy efficiency furnace rebates include: $300 for the installation of a new natural gas furnace with an AFUE (Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency) rating of 92% to 94% or $400 for the installation of a new natural gas furnace with an AFUE rating of 95% or higher. These two rebate offers cannot be combined. There is a limit of two Chattanooga Gas energy efficiency furnace rebates in a ten-year period per service address.

Residential energy efficiency water heater rebates include: $200 for the installation of a new natural gas storage tank water heater with an UEF (uniform energy factor) rating of .82 or higher, $200 for the installation of a new natural gas condensing tank water heater with a TE (thermal efficiency) rating of .90 or higher, or $300 for the installation of a new natural gas tankless water heater with an UEF rating of .87 or higher. Qualified water heaters are whole house units. There is a limit of one Chattanooga Gas energy efficiency water heater rebate in a ten-year period per service address.

Commercial energy efficiency furnace rebates include: $300 for the installation of a new natural gas furnace with an AFUE efficiency rating of 92% to 94% or $400 for the installation of a new natural gas furnace with an AFUE efficiency rating of 95% or higher. These two rebate offers cannot be combined. There is a limit of two Chattanooga Gas energy efficiency furnace rebates in a ten-year period per service address.

Commercial energy efficiency water heater rebates include: $50 for the installation of a new natural gas tank water heater with a TE of 67% or higher, $100 for the installation of a new natural gas tank water heater with a TE of 88% or higher, or $1 per MBH (thousands of BTU per hour) for the installation of a new natural gas tankless water heater with a TE rating of 90% or higher and 200 MBH or less.  These rebate offers cannot be combined. There is a max of $1,000 in Chattanooga Gas energy efficiency commercial water heater rebates in a ten-year period per service address.

Commercial energy efficiency condensing boiler rebates include: $500 for the installation of a new natural gas condensing boiler with a TE rating of 90% or higher and MBH of less than 300, $1,500 for the installation of a new natural gas condensing boiler with a TE rating of 90% or higher and MBH of 300-499, $2,500 for the installation of a new natural gas condensing boiler with a TE rating of 90% or higher and MBH of 500-999, $3,500 for the installation of a new natural gas condensing boiler with a TE rating of 90% or higher and MBH of 1,000-1,700, or $4,500 for the installation of a new natural gas condensing boiler with a TE rating of 90% or higher and MBH of 1,701-2,500.  These rebate offers cannot be combined. There is a limit of two Chattanooga Gas energy efficiency boiler rebates in a ten-year period per service address.

Energy efficiency rebate funds are limited; these rebates are valid while funds are available.

Chattanooga Gas energy efficiency rebates apply to qualifying new natural gas furnaces or water heaters installed to replace existing natural gas equipment by a certified Tennessee licensed contractor.

Customers at submitted service address must have an active account in good standing with Chattanooga Gas.

No, dual fuel systems do not qualify.

Online submission forms must be completed within 45 days of purchase or installation of qualifying product. 

An installation invoice from a Tennessee certified licensed contractor is the accepted form of supporting documentation. Chattanooga Gas reserves the right to inspect the premises prior to payment.

There is a limit of one Chattanooga Gas rebate per installed appliance. Hybrid water heaters with both a tank and tankless unit are considered one appliance.

There is a limit of one Chattanooga Gas residential energy efficiency water heater rebate and a limit of two Chattanooga Gas residential energy efficiency furnace rebates in a ten-year period per service address.

There is a limit of $1,000 in Chattanooga Gas commercial energy efficiency water heater rebates, a limit of two Chattanooga Gas commercial energy efficiency furnace rebates, and a limit of two Chattanooga Gas commercial energy efficiency boiler rebates in a ten-year period per service address.

This offer is not valid for new construction. This offer is only valid for pre-existing homes, condominiums, townhouses and apartments located in the Chattanooga Gas service territory.

Please allow at least eight weeks after your completed claim (including supporting documentation) is submitted to receive your rebate. A Chattanooga Gas account must  be active at the submitted service address to receive your rebate.
