Chattanooga Gas submits annual financial review to the Tennessee Public Utility Commission

The company seeks to recover costs incurred while enhancing safety, reliability and expanding its system to help meet demand.

Chattanooga, Tenn. – April 20, 2026 – Today, Chattanooga Gas filed a financial review of its 2025 revenues, operational costs, and investments with the Tennessee Public Utility Commission (TPUC). Through TPUC’s Annual Rate Review Mechanism (ARM), the company seeks to adjust 2026 rates to recover the costs of work already performed in 2025. That critical work included strengthening the safety and reliability of the company’s infrastructure, which continues to provide uninterrupted services to customers even on the coldest days of the year.

With continued growth in both Bradley and Hamilton counties, Chattanooga Gas made enhancements and improvements to its infrastructure that supported increased demand and provided greater system capacity to supply new and existing residential, commercial, and industrial customers.

“Our teams see firsthand how our work supports the communities we serve. Providing clean, safe, and reliable natural gas to the families and businesses that depend on us is both our responsibility and our privilege,” said Walt Farrell, president and CEO of Chattanooga Gas. “This filing reflects our commitment to working with the TPUC to provide our 72,000 customers with natural gas service that fuels their lives; we are committed to meeting today’s needs and tomorrow’s opportunities.”

If approved, the 2026 rate increase to the typical residential customer’s total average bill would be $2.25 per month. A TPUC decision on the ARM filing is expected this August. Any new rate adjustments would likely go into effect in September 2026.
