Chattanooga, Tenn. - Thursday, November 14, 2024 – Chattanooga Gas remains committed to fueling communities by improving equitable access to the critical resources and opportunities they need to thrive. This month, the company awarded $35,000 in charitable grants to support three local community partners. These grants aim to enhance community enrichment initiatives, focusing on improving access to essential resources such as food, education, and health and well-being.
Chattanooga Gas gifted donations to La Paz, The Caring Place and United Way of the Ocoee Region during its annual Energy to Give program which took place on November 8 in downtown Chattanooga. The event was attended by local elected officials and community partners. Tennessee state Representative Yusef Hakeem emphasized Chattanooga Gas’ long-standing dedication to its hometown community. “Not every city is fortunate to have that level of support that really is aimed at changing lives,” he stated during his remarks.
Chattanooga Gas has provided a total of $133,000 in financial assistance in 2024, benefiting more than 400 families in Hamilton and Cleveland counties, nearly double the number of families reached in 2023. Below is additional information about each grant recipient:
